Things to do in Abha
Abha sits above the clouds — a highland city on the edge of the Sarawat, where juniper forests meet stone villages and summer means mist, not heat. It's the capital of Aseer, the greenest region in Saudi Arabia, and the best of it doesn't announce itself: it gets shown to you.
That's what Gharmish is for. Every experience here is hosted by a local — a guide who grew up on these trails, an artist keeping Al-Qatt Al-Aseeri alive, a family that has poured coffee the same way for generations. Small groups, real places, booked in a few taps.
The season is long. Summer brings the mist, the festivals and most of the Kingdom's visitors; spring and autumn are quieter and clear; winter nights on the plateau drop close to freezing. Abha has its own airport, the Soudah heights are under an hour away by road, and most experiences start in the city or a short drive out.
