An evening with the flower men of Habala
Habala · Abha, Aseer
5.0 · 1 reviewAbout this experience
Spend an evening with the Qahtani “flower men,” who wear crowns of marigold and herbs. Share stories, music, and a home-cooked meal on a terrace above the Habala valley as the light goes gold.
The story behind this experience
You've seen the crowns — marigold and fragrant herbs, worn by the Qahtani flower men. What photographs don't carry is what they mean. This evening exists to close that gap. Abdulaziz, whose family has farmed Habala's terraces for three generations, welcomes a small group onto a terrace above the valley: qahwa and dates as the light softens, then the flower men themselves telling the stories behind the crowns, with live Aseeri music, and a home-cooked meal shared under the stars. It's a Gharmish Original because you can photograph Habala on your own — being invited onto a terrace above it is another thing entirely.
Your host
