Cancellation & refunds

Plans change. Here's exactly what happens.

Three clear policies, in plain language — the same rules our system actually enforces, fixed on your booking the moment you book, with no fine print.

Free cancellation window

You can cancel any booking before it starts, from your booking page. Every experience shows one of three cancellation policies: Flexible (full refund until 24 hours before the start), Moderate (full refund until 48 hours before, then a 50% refund until 24 hours before) or Strict (full refund until 7 days before, then 50% until 48 hours before). The policy shown when you booked is the one that applies — it never changes after you book.

Two extras apply on top of any policy: cancel within 24 hours of booking (while the start is still at least 48 hours away) and you're always refunded in full; and you can move a booking to another open date once, free of charge, within the window your policy allows. Past a policy's last refund step the booking can still be cancelled, but the payment is not refunded — your host has already planned and turned others away.

Booking requests

A request-to-book costs nothing to send. The host has 24 hours to accept or decline; if they decline or don't respond in time, the request closes and you are never charged.

Once a host accepts, you have 24 hours to complete payment. If the payment window lapses, the hold is released and — as always — nothing is charged.

How refunds are paid

Refunds go back to the original payment method automatically. Depending on your bank, mada and card refunds typically appear within a few business days.

If an automatic refund can't be processed, our team completes it manually and you'll receive a confirmation email — you never need to chase it.

If a host cancels

If a host has to cancel — weather on the mountain is real — you're refunded in full, no matter how close to the start it happens.
